Daily Money Manager, Bookeeping

Peg Overton opened the doors of Senior Accounts, a personal financial assistance firm, on June 1, 1996. As a result of assisting aging family members who requested help in balancing their checkbooks, Peg discovered that there was a need to help others. She also learned of a budding organization dubbed American Association of Daily Money Managers (www.aadmm.com). Amongst the second tier of founding members, Peg contributed to the expansion of a handful of members to a nationwide organization. She is proud to be one of the original members who have passed the certification exam and can call herself a Professional Daily Money Manager (PDMM®). In addition to passing the exam, PDMMs must acquire appropriate CEUs in order to maintain their certification.

Through several occupations since her college graduation, Peg had developed skills that contributed to her ability to excel in assisting the growing, aging population with their finances. From these occupations she gleaned the following skills: perseverance in finding information, cheerfulness and patience, diplomacy, financial and business acumen, a penchant for detail, organizational and computer skills, and more cheerfulness and patience.

While AADMM was developing, Peg found another organization which was expanding the world of assisting seniors in everyday life by networking with others in the senior segment of our society. The Anne Arundel Senior Provider Group (www.seniorprovidergroup.com) was also formed in the mid 1990s and is still growing. As a member of the Board of Directors several times over the years, Peg has also served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Board and liaison to the annual directory published with the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities. Here she meets other people in this booming industry who enhance her awareness of services that benefit her clients.
